Taking in the scenic beauty of the Franklin, NC area is a must when you visit. Breathtaking mountain vistas, fantastic waterfalls, and the area's natural beauty offer a peaceful journey as you discover us.

Mountain Waters Scenic Byway

This 61-mile route winds through some of the most spectacular country in the Nantahala National Forest, including multiple waterfalls, a roaring whitewater river, and tremendous mountaintop views. Few, if any, other routes in North Carolina go so close to as many large waterfalls and rushing whitewater rivers and streams. To add a little variety, this drive also climbs to the top of a high peak for excellent views of southwestern North Carolina.

Nantahala Byway

This byway is named for the Nantahala Gorge, a world-class white water rafting spot. The byway passes through 20 miles of the Gorge. Travelers can explore the gorge itself and areas of interest that may include the Great Smokey Mountain National Park, Fontana Lake, and the Cherokee Indian Reservation.

Blueridge Parkway

Feel the wind in your hair and enjoy the fresh mountain air as you take a drive on this well-known scenic route. Access to the Blue Ridge Parkway is just over a half-hour from Franklin. Along the way you can stop for a picnic, take a hike, or just take in some of the most incredible mountain views you'll find anywhere.
