->Take a Look Around

Take a closer look at everything Franklin has to offer, from the family-friendly gem mining that earned us our title, to outdoor gear shops, ghost tours, museums, food trucks, and our own local breweries.

Currahee Brewing Company

Looking for a great craft beer and a brewery infused with military pride and history? Currahee Brewing Company boasts both. This 9,000-square-foot production and canning facility opened its doors in 2016, and is named for the motto of the 506th Infantry Regiment – made famous by their acts of courage as the “Stand Alone Battalion” and featured in the HBO special Band of Brothers.

Currahee Brewing Company was built with beer aficionados in mind, with its nearly 2,000-square-foot tasting room and outdoor, German-inspired biergarten that overlooks the beautiful Little Tennessee River. And if you’re hungry, Mountain Fresh Grocery from Highlands, NC, is ever present via their Food Trailer, with offerings to uniquely complement our in-house beer selection.

The Lazy Hiker

The Lazy Hiker Brewing Company truly embraces Franklin’s nature as a wayside community to the Appalachian Trail and a multitude of other hiking attractions. Deeply rooted in Franklin’s own unique personality and history, the mirco-brewery is located in the former Town Hall and Fire Department.

Take a seat inside at the bar, tables, or lounge area, and feel free to explore the biergarten outside. You might find yourself sharing old stories with new friends, or playing a game of giant Jenga – however you while away the time, you’ll find it easy to kick your feet up and enjoy the varied tastes of the Hiker’s craft beer. The Lazy Hiker is also a popular location for local food trucks, which take turns occupying the parking lot as the brewery’s featured cuisine counterpart.
